Beautiful restaurant serving tapas, modern British food. Food servings were very generous - especially their famous garlic & cheese loaf! A literal loaf of luscious garlic and oozy cheese that would easily serve 4 people. Lovely setting and modern cozy interior. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding meal here after our ceremony. Tom let us come up early to decorate for the guests! Great service and great food! The conservatory is great for having those type of gatherings in, it just made our day perfect. We can’t wait to come back

First time visit. Seated and served promptly with drinks and meals. Had a small issue with my latte which was resolved very quickly. Our meals were beautifully cooked and certainly didn’t disappoint. Absolutely will return.

Home to the famous garlic bread loaf although I think it should be renamed EPIC garlic loaf as its just that! As you can see, it's an absolute beast but when shared between 4 hungry people it didn't last very long. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the burgers were top notch. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive from Cardiff! I booked in advance as we brought our dog. Theh have a small area that is dog friendly so it's worth booking ahead. Excellent service.

Bistro 8, Blackwood – The Ultimate Sunday Roast Spot If you’re looking for a Sunday roast that knocks it out of the park, Bistro 8 in Blackwood is the place to be. Every plate was an absolute triumph! Starters: • Carrot & Coriander Soup: Silky, perfectly seasoned, and downright comforting. • Creamy Garlic Mushrooms: Velvety, garlicky goodness on a plate—pure heaven. Mains: We had the Dry Aged Topside of Beef and Local Roasted Pork Loin, and WOW. Picture this: Goose fat roasties with a golden crunch, buttered cabbage & leeks that tasted like a hug from Wales itself, garden peas bursting with freshness, swede mash so smooth it could be dessert, and honey-roasted carrots that were little bites of joy. Add to that a Yorkshire pudding big enough to frame your face, the most flavour-packed sausage meat stuffing, and the star of the show: bottomless pan gravy. Yes, you read that right—bottomless. (We couldn’t resist the cauliflower cheese either. Creamy, cheesy, and utterly indulgent!) Desserts: • Chocolate Fudge Cake: Rich, gooey, and unapologetically decadent. • Rhubarb Crumble with Custard: The perfect blend of sweet and tangy, topped with smooth custard that was pure nostalgia. This was our second visit, and it was just as good if not better than our first. The food is absolutely out of this world, and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly and helpful, we'll definitely be back.
